This doll has been a great favorite of mine for many years. For some reason an appropriate costume never came together, but now she is dressed and ready to move on to an exciting life in a different cabinet! Her lovely head is barely tinted and the bisque is of the finest quality and surprisingly pressed which is a rare attribute for a German doll. She also has paperweight eyes. Her German leather lady body is very good antique condition. The plaster pate and gorgeous French type fashion wig are original to her. When I first bought her, neither had ever been removed. She was then as she is now - pristine. Her clothing is made from 19th c. fabric of red, rose pink and cream paisley and lace for her skirt and velvet with rose pink grosgrain trim with silk buttons. The hat is a truly wonderful 1870's bolero style in red and cream straw. Her red boots are antique as well as are her undies. She is without damage or flaws of any kind. It seems that German doll makers made very few true early fashion dolls - the type that were meant to compete with the French counterparts of the 1860-1880 era. I believe that this wonderful doll belongs in that category. $ 1,900.00.  Inquire about Early Parian-like Kestner Fashion.

A truly exceptional lady doll. This face is transitional. I see more than just a whisper of the fully formed adult face Jumeau. Truthfully, if the nose were a bit more aquiline and the face a bit longer, she would be the very thing! In fact, her decoration is identical to the stroke to the very rare example pictured in the first edition of The Doll as Art by Stuart Holbrook [ pg. 53 ] and maybe earlier as she is paler and the painting more tentative in tone and color. But the idea is in the making. She is a haunting presence. She wears her original gown and I dispaired that the white did not compliment her. She needed blue, but how to do that and not remove this lovely garment? Well, the inspiration was not mine, but nevertheless a gorgeous hooded cape of 19th c. silk velvet was constructed to solve the problem. A shepherd's staff would be the making of this presentation!! She is perfect in every way. The extraordinary head and shoulder plate are free from any damage. She has a very tiny discoloration on the white of her left eye. The body is in excellent antique condition. Her pate is original but not the wig. Her shoes are simply amazing and deserve a listing all by themselves. These are actually 19th c. handmade fashion boots and if you want to see better pictures of them, I will be happy to send them on. The boots have cobbled flat heels with 14 grommets on each boot with their original laces and reach high up her lower leg. Underneath the lovely Swiss dot organdy gown is an exquisite trained petticoat with matching bloomers and close fitting chemise. She is very large at 26" tall. Believe me when I tell you this doll is a show stopper and the pictures do not do her justice.. $ 13,500.00. Inquire about Very Early 26-inch Jumeau Fashion with Rare Face.

Does your doll collection need a nanny? Well this magnificent lady might fit the bill. Standing an astonishing 34" tall this lovely Biedermeier china has lost nothing only gained by her size. Her painting is perfect and soft with a calm and restful expression - almost smiling. She is wearing a 19th c. doll costume [ not child ] made from a pale blue floral lawn with plenty of antique undergarments and a vintage bonnet embellished with antique materials. Her wig is antique, but not original. The body she is on is a marvel of construction! Although this body is approximately 25 years younger, it none the less is perfect for her as it had built in stays to support the weight of the head. As for the arms and legs, there is no indication of replacement although their condition is mint. So much the better as the picture is perfect. She has no damage with the exception of some minor paint loss to the black spot. This is a matron of substance. She is a presence felt in person. $ 3,100.00.  Inquire about Biedermeier China Fashion.

Parian

Standing 14" high, this unusual Parian has an open/close mouth with painted teeth [!] and fancy hairdo. She still has her original earrings and original body with striped stockings. She is outfitted in a fantastic creation of royal blue tissue silk with velvet trim. Her hat has a little bird - Victorian style! Her footwear is pair of lovely buckled leather slippers. She has a clean break across the back left corner of her shoulderplate that has been glued and reinforced from underneath (detailed photo in dressing room). No hairlines or other damage has resulted from this. I do not know if it is the dress, the coy tilt to her head, the undeniable beauty of her modeling or all of the above, but this doll even at 14" tends to dominate the shelf. Sold for $ 1,000.00. Inquire about Parian.
